Lurnnet Cookie Policy
Version: 1.2.0
Effective date: 13 August 2026
Replaces: 1.1.0 (10 August 2026)
This Policy explains cookies and similar storage on Lurnnet websites (https://lurnnet.com and the web app). The mobile app does not use web cookies — see the EULA.
The Privacy Policy controls if the two documents overlap.
In short
A cookie is a small file a site stores on your device. We use them to keep you signed in, keep the site secure, remember language and similar preferences, and — only if you agree — understand how the site is used.
When you first visit, we show a banner. Strictly necessary cookies are always on. Everything else is off until you choose. You can change this later in Settings → Privacy → Cookies, or by clearing cookies in your browser.
If you are under 18, optional cookies stay off. Only a parent (or you after you turn 18) can turn them on. We do not use marketing cookies on students, TAs, or parents.
Categories
Necessary (always on). Sign-in, security, load protection, language, and remembering your cookie choice. The site cannot work without these. These last for the session or a short sign-in period.
Analytics (off until you agree). How the product is used, so we can improve it. Teachers and TAs only on signed-in product analytics. Not used for ads. Students are excluded. If you agree, these last up to 12 months unless you clear them sooner.
Preferences (off until you agree). Things like light/dark mode or last class viewed. If you agree, these last up to 12 months unless you clear them sooner.
Marketing (off until you agree; teachers only). Measuring opens on optional news emails. We do not run advertising networks or cross-site ads. If you agree, these last up to 12 months unless you clear them sooner.
None of these cookies are a sale or “share” of personal information for advertising.
We do not use cookies to fingerprint you for advertising.
Companies that set cookies
Some necessary security cookies come from Cloudflare. Optional analytics, if you agree, are processed by PostHog in the EU. See the sub-processor list.
Under 18
Necessary cookies only. Optional categories stay off. Only a parent (or you after you turn 18) can turn them on. Marketing stays off. We do not build advertising profiles of children.
A parent can email privacy@lurnnet.com about cookies on a child’s account.
Turning cookies off
Use the banner or Settings → Privacy → Cookies, or clear cookies in your browser. Blocking all cookies, including necessary ones, will break sign-in.
Withdrawal applies going forward.
Changes and contact
We will give at least 30 days’ notice of material changes (new categories or new companies that set cookies). Optional categories then need a fresh choice.
