Lurnnet uses AI to help teachers and students. This page says what those features do, what is sent to providers, and how we treat younger users.
AI is a decision-support tool. It is a draft, not a final answer. It can be wrong. A teacher must review it before anyone relies on it. A grade is not final on Lurnnet until a teacher or authorised adult TA accepts, adjusts, or rejects the suggestion.
We do not let providers train their models on Lurnnet content.
The teacher decides how class AI is used. We run the tools on the teacher’s instructions. Details of providers are on the sub-processor list. This page plus the Privacy Policy and Terms apply.
Features

We may add or change features. Material changes will be reflected here.
We do not use AI to make a final decision about a person with no human involved. Human review by the teacher (or an authorised adult TA) is mandatory before an AI-suggested grade becomes the recorded grade.
Providers
We currently use Google for AI. Other providers we add will appear on the sub-processor list first, with notice to teachers.
What is sent: the text or material needed for the feature, plus limited context (for example language and an age band for safety).
What is not sent: your name, email, passwords, or payment details.
Providers may keep inputs for a short time under their own abuse rules. They are contracted not to train on Lurnnet data.
Younger users
- No AI for anyone under 13 (no Lurnnet account).
- Students under 18 need parent confirmation before AI is available.
- Under 17, replies go through stricter automated safety checks. If a reply is blocked, we show a short explanation and may flag it for the teacher.
- AI replies are labelled as AI-generated.
Parents and students can ask for a copy or deletion of AI history, or a human review of an AI-suggested grade, via the teacher or privacy@lurnnet.com.
We do not use AI to market to students, TAs, or parents.
Limits
AI may invent facts, miss recent information, or reflect bias. Grading is a suggestion. It is not professional, medical, or exam-board advice. Verify before you act.
Teachers are responsible for what they publish to a class. We give you labels and override controls; you are the editor.
Academic and grading decisions sit with the teacher. Lurnnet is not a school and does not decide whether a student passes, fails, repeats, or is removed from a class. Lurnnet has no liability for those decisions, including where the teacher used AI outputs, except for rights that cannot be waived (see the Terms).
Changes and contact
We will give at least 30 days’ notice of material changes (provider, training, age rules). Teachers may need to accept again.
